"Although construction of the garage is moving forward, the hospital continues to delay a $360 million expansion that was approved last December by the state Health Department.

The tightening of the credit markets in the wake of the U.S. financial crisis prompted the hospital to put the expansion on hold until the borrowing environment improves.

"We're still waiting for more favorable climate," (hospital spokesman Greg) McGarry said"

Just What We Need: Another Parking Garage. (none / 0) (#1)

They say 70% of the average city is devoted to the management of automobiles.

Does anybody seriously think another parking garage is going to fix the parking problems? People are still going to want to dodge paying parking fees, just while new cars fill the parking garages.

The parking garage won't fix our nation's urban problem -- our cities are filled with two many private automobiles.

Albany should pass a moratorium on parking garages and insist that all new developments be cited on or near bus lines, and that developers provide reduced price or free CDTA swipers to all employees. The cost of a lifetime free swipers to all employees pails to the cost of just one parking garage.

We don't need any more cars congesting up our city.
