I have to say, I'm impressed.

Rex Smith and Company had a last chance for a legacy. And they went all in. No denying your legacy now, boys.

For Mayor- Jerry Jennings

My Prediction Came True! (none / 0) (#1)

Can I call 'em or what. Hearst supports their own kind.

BTW, some other predictions that I've made: that the sky will be blue, death is inevitable and taxes will rise.

Wishful thinking (none / 0) (#2)
by albany layman on Fri Sep 11, 2009 at 06:41:20 AM EST
Mr. Jennings should have the four more years he asks for -- and he should heed the issues Mr. Ellis, and others, have raised, including the need for more open government.

And everyone at the TU editorial board should get a pony, and ice cream, ice cream that is good for you and never makes you fat, and should also find a pot of gold at the end of every rainbow.

I'm sorry - we're supposed to think The Tan One is going to change?  Why?  Because the fifth time's a charm?

This is wishful thinking on the part of the TU editorial board.  It defies belief that a person - any person, let alone Jennings - would change his approach after being elected to a fifth term.  The opposite is much more likely.  He'd be even more set in his self-dealing, unresponsive ways.

This city needs a change.  Ellis isn't perfect, but if you're looking for perfect, maybe you should join the TU folks for ponies and ice cream.

Vote for Ellis.  Bring some fresh voices and fresh energy to the city government.
