This one pretty much speaks for itself. This is the head of the Albany police union talking about his advice on working for the APD
"As far as pay goes and workload, I don't know what would make it attractive for someone to come here," Mesley said. "If I had a relative who asked me, I would send them somewhere else."

The head of the Albany Police Officer's Union should take his own advise and work somewhere else. What an idiot. Is he really serious?  Part of his job is to motivate his "troops", and by making statements such as he did in the Times Union, he is actually doing the opposite.

He is paid, like the rest of the members of the Department to "protect and serve".  He often forgets that he is sworn,, not to be the union official, but to be a cop, first and foremost.

Com on Chris, be a part of the solution, not part of the problem.

Give me a break. The workload? The pay? (none / 0) (#2)

I wonder how Richie Roberts managed.  He seemed to do just fine and brought down three quarters of the drug force in NY for corruption.

So, now he has nothing to say?

Must be that 'blue line' thing.

What Is In The Truth (none / 0) (#4)

I have had APD Officers that are getting ready to retire say they would not take a job with APD today and have said that I should sell my house and get out.  I think that is very clear.  I am still reviewing a tape I have of what appears to be a person shooting a bullet at my Ward 8 home.  Sometimes we just don't want to hear the truth.

I didn't realize I had to respond to your ignorance.

much from you at all. I wondered why you handn't chimed in on Mesely's comment in DIA's post and was not seeking a reply from you at all to mine.

In other words, I wondered why you were being ignorant.

As far as your responding to my (in your little blue mind) ignorance goes flewy, why did you choose to while ignoring DIA's post?

I guess you just had to.

Funny, for not expecting much from me, you sure do ask a lot of questions for me to answer.

Who the hell are you to tell anyone what they should or shouldn't reply to.  Oh, for a moment I forgot, you're just another self-rightous liberal.  That explains it all.

And Jim, you're another one, you have no idea what I do, you just think you do.

This is not 4th grade.  You all sound like a bunch of cackling hens.  We all get sucked into it every once in a while but it drags everyone down.  Stick to the issues.   Most everyone has some good points and it doesn't matter if they're opposing.  It makes us think.
