Will the Crimes be Prosecuted?

Here in the city of Albany the head of DGS is known to have been involved in a scam where city employees stole money from tax payers. While we are told there is an investigation in process, we have heard nothing about this. When David Soares ran for office he said there would no longer be two levels of justice as had always been the case in Albany. I'm having trouble understanding how that is the case when Mayor Jennings' buddies are robbing us in broad daylight and then getting promoted.

So, now we know of more crimes in Colonie
Town workers inappropriately dumped town soil on the property of the West Albany Rod & Gun Club and cost town taxpayers $48,000, according to an audit released today by state Comptroller Thomas P. DiNapoli.
We are told the DA is looking into it.
Albany County District Attorney David Soares is conducting an investigation into the dumping to determine if any criminal charges should be filed.
What part of stealing $50K from the taxpayers isn't a crime?

If the DA isn't going to prosecute the people in Albany and Colonie for these thefts I'd like to get an update on how large a theft is considered a crime in Albany County. Is anything under 50 grand ok as long as I steal it from the taxpayers? If so I think i'll be driving a new SUV with tinted windows.

I sincerely hope the DA gives a thorough look into this and doesn't just gloss over it and offer up some "cop out" to get rid of the public pressure during an upcoming election cycle.

Personally, I don't think Soares would do that. I'd like to think he's a little more responsible than those idiots who have ran Albany and Colonie the last 15 years.
