Over at the Times Union they mentioned this site regarding the announcement of Calsolaro having a meeting to talk about getting a good candidate to run for mayor. What I like about this is that it shows that the good people of the Times Union do read this site. So now they have no excuses for not completing their homework assignment. If in the future they continue to "report" the lie that Mayor Jennings and the city put forth that the landfill contributes 10% of our city's budget or "$13 to $15 million a year", we know they are intentionally misleading the public.
It shouldn't take long. According to this article, Calsolaro, McEneny and Morris are all potential mayoral candidates for 2009. I'm sure any of those can beat Jennings but I'm also pretty sure Jerry isn't gonna stick around. The city coffers have been emptied. The city credit has been maxed out. There will be no convention center. What is their left for him to do? Serving the majority of the citizens of Albany has never been his thing.
